The Due Date for Pro-rated Form 2290 Taxes for April Used Vehicles is Approaching Soon!

Attention truckers! It’s time to report Form 2290 HVUT for your April used heavy vehicles. The IRS charges Form 2290 truck taxes on a pro-rated basis for newly purchased or vehicles first used away from the tax season time. Generally, a tax season starts in July, and truckers must report their truck taxes for the entire tax year during July and August. Therefore, for any vehicle used any other month apart from July, truckers must report form 2290 truck taxes on a partial period basis based on the vehicle’s first used month and get the valid Schedule 1 copy from the IRS. Truckers must report the pro-rated form 2290 returns within May 31, 2023, and get the schedule 1 copy for their April 2023 purchased or used heavy vehicles.
