As the holiday season approaches, TaxExcise.com sends warm holiday wishes to truckers, owner-operators, and fleet owners nationwide. While the holidays are a time of celebration, we know many in the trucking industry continue to work tirelessly on the road to keep goods moving across the country. We thank you for your dedication and wish you a successful and smooth New Year ahead.
Truckers play a critical role in supporting the economy, especially during the holiday rush. From delivering essential supplies to meeting year-end shipping demands, your efforts help keep businesses running and communities connected. We truly appreciate your commitment during this busy season.
We would also like to remind you of an upcoming IRS system maintenance period. The IRS will begin its scheduled shutdown on December 26, and services are expected to resume in the second week of January 2026. During this maintenance window, the IRS will temporarily stop accepting and processing excise tax filings, including Form 2290.
TaxExcise.com will continue to accept returns during the IRS shutdown. Any filings submitted during this time will be securely queued on our system and electronically transmitted to the IRS once processing resumes. If you have pro-rated Form 2290 filings due for recently purchased or first-used vehicles, filing early can help prevent delays in receiving your Schedule 1 and ensure a compliant, stress-free start to the New Year.Happy Holidays!
