You must get ready to report form 2290 truck taxes for the new tax season and get the schedule 1 copy to operate your trucking business smoothly. The current TY 2022-2023 tax season ends on June 30, 2023. And the new tax season begins on July 1, 2023. The IRS will start accepting the HVUT form 2290 for the next tax period anytime around the first week of July. Therefore, truckers have time till August 31, 2023, to report form 2290 taxes to the IRS and get IRS stamped schedule 1 copy. Else, IRS will charge late charges, penalties, and interests over your tax dues if you fail to report and pay your taxes on time. Also, you will run into trouble with the authorities if you don’t have a valid Schedule 1 copy for your heavy vehicle.
