Clear Your Dues Through The Following Payment Methods

Trucking being one of the most demanded professions, not all can fit into the shoes of a trucker. The hardship, the dedication and the passion for the nation is almost instant for these truckers and it should be that way. However, managing deliveries and the same time handling tax can be tedious. That is why, IRS encourage taxpayers to electronically efile their return through an authorized efiling service provider like the Tax2290.com, a product of ThinkTrade Inc. today’s topic for the blog is the payment methods used to file tax.

The very first topic:

Direct Debit/ Electronic Funds Withdrawal:

One of the most used methods to pay tax online is Direct Debit. This method comes in handy and easy to use. All you need to do is, provide IRS with the requirement information while you are filing form 2290 online and the tax would be eventually debited from your account. Also, do remember, if you are choosing this method, you hold the responsibility to maintain sufficient funds in your bank for paying your dues. To revoke the payment, you can get in touch with U.S. Treasury Financial Agent at 1-888-353-4537 no later than 2 business days before the settlement date.

EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System):

This is another method that is counted when you are efiling your return. Popularly known as EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System), this method is an IRS initiative. If you are choosing this method of payment, you are hold responsible for scheduling a payment on your own and take up the responsibility to pay tax on time.

To create an account or manage it, visit eftps.gov or call 1-800-555-4477. The transaction should be initiated at least one business day before the due date.

Check or Money Order:

Well, you can choose check or money order method when you are not comfortable paying your dues online. The tax payment has to be scheduled on or before the due date. Print the completed payment voucher 2290-V and mail it to IRS.

You can prepare your tax return online and pay your dues through check or money order.

Note: You are not allowed to pay your tax in the form of cash. The check or money order should be payable to United States Treasury. Add details like name, address, EIN, “Form 2290,” and the date (as entered in Box 3) on your payment. Detach the payment voucher 2290-V and send across the payment. If you choose to file it electronically (e filing), form 2290 and schedule-1 copy with the payment voucher is not required. Stapling the payment to the voucher or form 2290 should be avoided.
Send the payment and voucher 2290-V to:
